THE FINAL MEETING OF THE PROJECT OFFICE WAS HELD IN SHYMKENT
The final meeting of the Governing Council "Shymkent city development program" was held under the chairmanship of mayor Murat Aitenov.
On the agenda of the meeting were considered three issues – the integration of project management methods and tools into the public administration system, the results of the competition "Qazaqstan Project Management Awards 2020", the Project Office of Shymkent. It should be noted that this year, a project office was created to optimize the management system in order to achieve socio-economic indicators.
The head of the city noted at the meeting that Project Management in Kazakhstan is already actively implemented in all central and local state bodies. He also noted that in order to effectively use Agile tools, that is, to achieve results and minimize bureaucracy, a lot of work has been done to supplement the relevant regulatory framework.
- Due to the discrepancy in the interaction between directorates, there are many difficulties in achieving results. Well, Scrum-boards in the "now and here" format help to eliminate these shortcomings. Thus, as a result of joint effective actions of the Directorate of energy and utilities and the Directorate of passenger transport and highways (synchronization of time for the repair of roads and sewerage systems), an indicator of improving the level of road quality satisfaction will be achieved,-said Murat Aitenov.
By the end of the year, the head of the city instructed to coordinate the indicators of the Shymkent City Development Program for 2021, relevant industry programs with the heads of the basic directions, implement the proposals of the project office in a single cross-platform.
In addition, on November 28 this year, the Academy of Public Administration under the president of the Republic of Kazakhstan held a competition on improving project management in public administration "Qazaqstan Project Management Awards 2020".

According to the results of the competition in the nomination "BEST M & E PROJECT", the gold medal was awarded to the Shymkent city mayor's office ("VR video of the citadel"). Also, the hymkent city mayor's office took first place in the nomination "BEST PROJECT OFFICE of M & E" and in the special nomination "BEST PROJECT PERSONNEL MANAGEMENT SYSTEM OF THE ORGANIZATION".
The award was presented to the city mayor by Arman Yevniyev,the head of the Centre for the Development of Project Management in Public Administration at the Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
It should be noted that the main goal of competition is to support government agencies and organizations that actively implement and apply project management methods and tools in their activities, to encourage civil servants to develop leadership and new competencies.
Summing up the meeting, Murat Aitenov stressed the need to activate the work of the project office, get rid of paperwork and systematize time and work.
