This work will be carried out on the basis of tasks outlined in the Address of the Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to plant 2 billion trees in forests and 15 million trees in localities over the next five years.
Since it is planned to increase the number of seedlings by 5.46 million in the coming years and the green zone of the city by 13,000 hectares, 2,345,500 Karagach seedlings per 396 hectares and 2,653 hectares will be planted in the spring and autumn of 2021 in order to increase the green belt of Shymkent city. After listening to the report of the head of the Directorate, Deputy mayor of the city Ye. Bilisbekov expressed his opinion on the planting of tree seedlings.
"It is gratifying that so many trees will be planted in the city. However, most of them are ornamental trees. People need eco-friendly trees that purify the air. In summer, the temperature in Shymkent reaches 50 degrees. At this time, ornamental trees are ineffective. Our main task is to plant more shady trees, including oaks, to create environmental conditions for the population, " -said the city Deputy mayor.
At present, 260 thousand trees grow on 976 hectares of land belonging to the "Zhasyl beldeu" of the Directorate of Natural Resources and Environmental Management of Shymkent, and 7.8 thousand trees grow on 11 hectares of gorges. 3,578 hectares have been planted with 3 326 trees. A total of 3.6 million trees grow on 4,565 hectares of land.
