A number of digitalization projects are implemented in Shymkent. The city mayor M. Aitenov got acquainted with the further development plan of the digitalization Directorate. Head of Digitalization Directorate Aset Abdrakhmanov reported on the work done and upcoming projects.
Under state programme "Digital Kazakhstan", the digitalization is carried out in 5 main areas - housing and communal services, transport, education, health, security, and 6 additional areas.
According to Aset Maratovich, automated traffic lights are installed in the pilot mode by traffic managers at 3 intersections of Tauke Khan Avenue (the intersection of Kazybek bi, Tashenov and Dulati streets). The intelligent transport system (ITS) is implemented jointly with the city's passenger transport and highways Department.
As a result of these works, the efficiency of intersections increased by 42-48%, as well as the number of traffic jams during the day decreased and the capacity increased.
The Smart stops project was also presented at the meeting. To date, the city's bus stops are being updated. However, none of the stops have an informative display that shows the time when public transport is coming, the current time, and the air temperature.
The head of the Directorate made suggestions in this direction. In particular, at each stop set up a board, integrate GPS public transport trackers with applications 2GIS, Yandex, Open Shymkent. In addition, A. Abdrakhanov informed that for the convenience of population, the possibility of integrating a public transport map with the rental of Shymkent bikes in the city was being considered.
