INFRASTRUCTURE ISSUES OF THE KARATAU DISTRICT ARE DEALT WITH IN A PHASED MANNER
Karatau district mayor of Shymkent city Abzal Alikulov reported on the work done for 9 months of 2020. Infrastructure issues in the area are resolved according to the plan. There are 47,202 individual houses in the district, of which 36,324, or 77%, are provided with quality drinking water around the clock. Currently, work is being completed to provide high-quality drinking water to the Azat microdistrict and the residential areas of Tassay, Dostyk, and Otemis. The facilities are planned to be put into operation by the end of 2020. Construction works on high-quality drinking water supply in Asar-2, Dostyk and Turan microdistricts are under way in accordance with the schedule. Construction of the facilities is passed to 2021. Upon completion of these works, the indicator of quality drinking water supply will reach 83.5%. There are 6 settlements in the district that need to be provided with drinking water. They are: Asar-2, Bozaryk dacha, residential array-Kaynarbulak, residential array-Isfidzhab, residential array Sairam, Zhanakurylys territory of the Kyzylsu residential array.

To date, contractors have been identified to provide gas supply to the Asar-2, Azat, Dostyk, and Turan microdistricts and construction works are under way in accordance with the approved schedule. In addition, the construction of a main gas pipeline is underway to supply natural gas to the Kainarbulak residential area and the Turan microdistrict. Construction work is passed to 2021.
