Murat Aitenov got acquainted with the work of the Opera and Ballet theater

Yesterday, akim of the city of  Shymkent Murat Aitenov got acquainted with the work of the Opera and Ballet Theater and met with employees of the theater group. The meeting discussed ways to attract the population to Opera and Ballet. The head of the city shared his proposals for the development of culture. In addition, the akim  raised the issue of attracting qualified ballet specialists from Nur-Sultan and Almaty.

The Opera and ballet theater was established in 2007. The first President of the country, Nursultan Nazarbayev, took part in the opening ceremony.

The theater building itself was built in 1984, and in 2007 it was rebuilt as a theater. There is a large hall for 300 spectators and a small hall for 86 seats.

The Director of the institution Abdihan Nurmahanbetov told about the problems. For example, a theater needs a special warehouse for storing items used in productions.

The head of the city noted that after the transfer of the Opera and Ballet Theater from the property of the Turkestan region to the balance of the city, work will be carried out on further development of the theater.
