The transition to a more modern and adapted technique is an inevitable process.
So, the Border Guard is working on the unification and modernization of existing weapons and equipment. And all this is aimed at ensuring that the border guard does not overcome the living conditions or his own equipment, and that he performs the tasks assigned to him as long as possible, without losing effectiveness.
Quite recently, in the harsh conditions of the southern and western borders of the State Border, tests of cross-country vehicles and “survivability” - “ALGA” brands of domestic production and converted on the basis of the department's Repair Plant - “UAZ Farmer” and “GAZ Huntsman” were completed.
These vehicles were able to overcome a difficult route with a total length of 3 thousand km, of which 2 thousand km - exclusively in off-road conditions.
The test took two weeks, the route ran through areas with difficult physical and geographical conditions, as well as desert-sandy and solonchak-swampy areas (Kyzyl-Kum sands, Renaissance island in the Aral Sea, Ustyurt plateau). The movement of the test column was also hindered by natural phenomena - snow, rain and dust storms.
However, the presented automotive equipment confidently passed the test. In these “all-terrain vehicles”, the issues of equipment stability while overcoming heavy obstacles, speed, smoothness and comfort have been worked out significantly. They confidently conquered the salt marsh, swampy soil and a water barrier, including when moving along the isthmus of Fr. Rebirth.
“ALGA” SUVs, pickup trucks, although made from various components of foreign production, in which the Kazakh content prevails, were pleased, first of all, with their technical capabilities: a reinforced and thoughtful running gear and a powerful engine, as well as a high level of comfort (low noise) in the cabin, there is no dust and the smell of exhaust gases from the vehicle in front, there is an air conditioning system and an audio system) and, importantly, moderate fuel consumption and, of course, the price. These SUVs are a good alternative to the existing UAZ (Hunter and others).
Testing of vehicles at the state border section was personally monitored by the Head of the department. The Deputy Chairman of the National Security Committee of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Director of the Border Guard Service, praised the results of the work and gave a number of specific instructions to the relevant units.
Border guards were the first to test domestic and converted equipment. And, probably, in the near future pick-up SUVs with the inspiring name “ALGA” will appear in border units.
