International Seminar on Combustion Research Held in Kazakhstan

The XI International Seminar on Flame Structure was held at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. Leading scientists and specialists from Kazakhstan, Russia, China, Germany, Israel, Belarus, and Singapore will participated in the seminar.

The seminar continued a tradition of international scientific forums devoted to fundamental and applied research on combustion processes. The first Seminar on Gas Flame Structure was held in Novosibirsk in 1983. Over the years, the seminar series has become an important international platform for interaction among scientists working in the fields of combustion physics and chemistry, chemical kinetics, flame dynamics, energetic materials, and advanced energy technologies.

The scientific programme of the seminar covered research on alternative fuels, improving combustion efficiency, new energy technologies and energetic materials, the formation of soot, nanoparticles, and toxic compounds during combustion, waste processing and the use of waste for energy purposes, as well as modern experimental and numerical research methods.

The scientific scope of the seminar was directly related to the implementation of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Research on energy efficiency, alternative fuels, and advanced energy technologies continued to SDG 7, «Affordable and Clean Energy». The development of new technologies, innovative materials, modelling methods, and modern scientific approaches supported the achievement of SDG 9, «Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure». Research on efficient resource use, waste processing, and converting waste into new materials and energy resources contributed to SDG 12, «Responsible Consumption and Production».

The seminar provided an opportunity to exchange research findings and scientific developments, discuss current scientific approaches and research methods, and explore prospects for further scientific cooperation. The seminar contributed to strengthening international scientific ties, expanding professional collaboration, and developing joint research projects.

The XI International Seminar on Flame Structure was organized by the Institute of Combustion Problems of the Committee of Science of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, the V.V.Voevodsky Institute of Chemical Kinetics and Combustion of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences, and the S.S.Kutateladze Institute of Thermophysics of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
