The Abay region is currently actively monitoring and stabilising food prices. As part of this, regular awareness campaigns are conducted and periodic agricultural fairs are organised.
For example, in Aksuat district, a working group has been established to carry out systematic monitoring and awareness-raising activities among the population.
It should be noted that since the beginning of the year 20 agricultural fairs have been held in Aksuat district and 26.2 tonnes of products have been sold.
In order to maintain stable prices for bread made from first grade flour, a small bakery has been organised in Aksuat district, supplying bread to retail shops at an affordable price. This initiative is being implemented under a tripartite memorandum between the Abai Oblast Akimat, the Ministry of Agriculture and «NC Food Corporation» JSC.
Also in Abay rayon, a special working group monitors prices for socially important food products. Since the beginning of the year, 390 such raids have been organised for thorough price control.
In order to stabilise prices for bread made of 1st grade wheat flour in Abay rayon, bakery owners will receive social flour until 1 January.
In addition, agricultural fairs are regularly held in all districts of the region, where products are offered at prices 10-15 per cent below market prices, excluding intermediary mark-ups.
