A food fair was held in the capital

On September 9-10, 2023, an agricultural fair was held in Astana, where agricultural producers of the city of Taraz, Bayzak, Zhambyl, Zhualin, Merken, Moyinkum, Kordai, Sarysu, T.Ryskulovsky, Talas and Shu districts of Zhambyl region took part, as well as agricultural production cooperatives created within the framework of the pilot project «To increase incomes of the population of Zhambyl region» launched in 2019, and individual entrepreneurs who have opened their own business.

298.8 tons of agricultural products totaling 168.6 million tenge were presented at the fair.

Namely: 33 tons of meat products (horse meat, beef, lamb), 3.2 tons of chicken meat, 4.0 tons of sausage products, 14.0 tons of dairy products, 6 thousand eggs, 1.0 ton of confectionery, 3.4 tons of pasta, 10 tons of fish, 5.0 tons of honey, more than 208 tons of vegetable, melon and fruit and berry products.

The fair allowed agricultural producers of the region to sell their products directly to consumers without intermediaries, as a result of which prices for agricultural products will be 10-20% lower than market prices.
