Issues of exchange trading, provision of coal for farm greenhouses were discussed at the round table of the Ministry of Trade and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan

On June 30, 2023, the Ministry of Trade and Integration of the Republic of Kazakhstan held a round table on the topic «Topical issues of providing coal for greenhouses».

The event was attended by Vice-Ministers of Trade and Integration Kairat Balykbayev, Industry and Infrastructure Development Ilyas Ospanov, Deputy Akim of Turkestan region Ermek Kenzhehanuly, representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture, MTI Trade Committee, heads of greenhouses, regional operators and freight carriers.

During the round table meeting, Deputy Minister of Industry and Infrastructure Development Ilyas Ospanov, spoke about the ministry's plans to solve the supply of coal to farmers' greenhouses.

«Different brands of coal were sent for testing, the issue is almost resolved. We strive to ensure that in order to avoid a shortage of coal, all local executive bodies ensure proper control over the activities of regional operators and control over the shipment of coal», - the Vice Minister of Industry and Infrastructure Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan stressed.

In addition, the issue of exchange trading in coal was raised, however, given that coal producers carry out exchange trading exclusively in municipal coal at a social price and sell coal only to regional operators determined by local executive bodies for their subsequent sale to the public for personal use, the participants of the round table agreed to prematurely amend legislation in the field of exchange trading. trade. According to Ilyas Ospanov, it is necessary to start working out the issue of splitting the exchange trade in coal in the context of each region in order to prevent coal flows to other regions.

Representatives of JSC «Shubarkol Komir» in turn, spoke about the readiness to conclude a direct contract with farmers' coal greenhouses in the amount of 150 thousand tons and the start of coal shipment from January 1, 2024.

«Regarding the proposal to conclude a direct contract, we support the signing of the contract» – said Abror Aitkhodzhayev, a representative of Shubarkol Komir JSC.

Murat Irgibayev, Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture, spoke on the issue of subsidies for farm greenhouses.

«Work on the development of an appropriate regulatory legal act through the Ministry of Agriculture has begun, 10 measures of state support are already being provided, the Ministry of Trade and Integration of the Republic of Kazakhstan has already adopted a national standard, we support these amendments, but a clear understanding of all the nuances in the work of this industry is needed» - Murat Irgibayev said.
