In the North Kazakhstan region explained: what causes the absence of price tags on the sold goods

Employees of the Department of Trade of the North Kazakhstan Region of the Committee of Trade of the Ministry of Trade and Integration of the Republic of Kazakhstan, together with specialists from the Department of Entrepreneurship, Agriculture and Veterinary of the Akimat of Petropavlovsk, raided the shops and markets of the city.

The purpose of the visit was to clarify Article 24 of the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan “On Protection of Consumer Rights” that the seller is obliged to indicate the value of the goods in tenge, issued with a price label, which is displayed in the internal and external windows of the trading facility. Also, the seller is obliged to sell, and the buyer has the right to purchase the goods according to the specified value, issued by the price label.

In addition, it was reported that the seller's failure to comply with these requirements is illegal and entails administrative liability in accordance with parts 4, 5 of Article 193 of the Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan "On Administrative Offenses".

Explanatory work was also continued in the city's retail facilities to prevent an increase in price increases for socially significant food products.

In the course of explanatory work, the owners of retail facilities were given leaflets stating that they should not exceed the trade markup above 15% for socially significant food products from the manufacturer's selling price or the wholesale supplier's purchase price in accordance with Article 9 of the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan "On regulation of trading activities". In case of violation of this article, responsibility is provided in accordance with article 204-4 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Republic of Kazakhstan, which was also reported to the owners of retail facilities.
