Theological works with religious convicts were carried out in the capital'S UIs institution

At the moment, the institution has more than 500posted serving sentences, of which 115 convicts pray.
With this category of convicts, preventive work and classes on theology are carried out on an ongoing basis. To work with convicts, theologians of the non-governmental organization "Akniet", as well as the "Center for the study of religion" under the akimat of Astana, are involved, who work mainly orally, in parallel with the demonstration of video materials.
During the conversation, topics will be discussed about the causes and threats of religious extremism, ways to prevent it, forms and methods of optimal psychological impact on convicts and the correct interpretation of the Koran, as well as the history of the formation of Islamic culture.
"In working with these convicts, it is very important to conduct awareness-raising conversations in order to direct their thoughts and feelings to the traditional course of faith," said the inspector of the group for the organization of theological and rehabilitation work among convicts, Senior Lieutenant of Justice Alikhan Ahmet.
