Doctors of the medical service of the KA - 168/2 institution of the Department of UIs of Aktobe region, on the complaint of a convicted person serving a sentence, as a result of a traumatic brain injury received during his release, examined the source of visual impairment, determined the disability of the first group and contributed to the appointment of benefits.
During the medical examination of convicts who have just arrived in the UIS institution, the convicted B. complains to the doctors of the medical service of the correctional institution that he does not see. It is said that the deterioration of his eyesight occurred to him as a result of a brain injury that he received in freedom in 2015.
On the initiative of doctors of the KA - 168/2 Institution, a medical examination and consultation will be organized immediately in relation to a citizen serving a sentence in the conditions of the Civil health sector of Aktobe. Under the influence of doctors of correctional institutions serving a sentence, the city Polyclinic No. 1 and the local clinic pass the necessary research results, in which a clinical diagnosis of "complete blindness of both eyes" is made. After that, the convicted person submitted to the Medical Advisory Commission for disability registration is assigned a visual disability of Group 1 due to the increased work of the medical service of the institution.
"After that, the convicted person's application for release from the Correctional Institution due to incomplete vision is satisfied by a court decision, and in accordance with the" rules of medical examination of convicts recommended for release from serving a sentence due to illness " approved by the order of the Ministry of internal affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan №530, convicted B. is recommended for release from serving a sentence due to health reasons. In accordance with this, the unserved term of deprivation of liberty of the convicted person for the same period was replaced by restriction of freedom, that is, punishment without isolation from society. That is, according to the court's decision, the convicted person will serve the remaining part of his sentence: 2 years, 9 months and 6 days on the account of the Probation Service for restriction of Liberty," gulfairuz Toremuratova, official representative of the Department of UIs of Aktobe region, shared.
"When I was free, doctors prescribed a disability for my eyes only for 1-2 years. When I looked around, I saw that I had already crossed the threshold of the relevant Centers for re-registration of documents. Now my long-term dream has come true, and doctors of the medical service of the Correctional Institution have issued a disability for my eyes "indefinitely". Currently, he receives a state benefit of 85 thousand tenge and spends it on necessary medicines.
