Representatives of the public Association "We are against torture" visited the capital's pre-trial detention center

On August 6, 2021, a memorandum of mutual cooperation was signed between the chairman of the UIS committee of the Ministry of internal affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the head of the public Association "We are against torture".
On July 12, 2022, chairman of the public Association "We are against torture" of Nur-Sultan Semenova E. A. and member of this association B. Musin visited the institution "EC 166/1" in accordance with this memorandum and for monitoring the observance of the rights of convicts.
The visitors were met by the head of the institution, Lieutenant Colonel of Justice Mukhin A. K. and Inspector of the group for educational work among convicts of the UIS Department in Nur-Sultan, major of Justice Kaldybayev S. zh. on the territory of the institution.
During the visit to the institution, representatives of public knowledge visited the regime buildings №1 and №3 of the institution, including video surveillance systems installed in the Office Office of the controller along the building and the library of the institution for detainees. The investigation was acquainted with the conditions of detention of prisoners and convicts.
At the same time, representatives of the public association conducted an investigation-reception of prisoners and convicts at their own request-8 citizens were accepted for a personal reception, during the reception there were no complaints from the detainees to the administration of the institution. At the same time, citizens held a general reception in cell 314, located in the regime Building No. 3, thanked the staff of the institution and noted that the detention regime does not violate the rights of detainees.
