The employment of convicts is a key link in an important process of re-socialization

"The labor-employed convicts are more organized, disciplined, working in production, they try to get, learn as much as possible useful in their work, consolidate existing skills, everything that can be useful after release," Tulegen Bikeev, deputy head of the EC-166/25 DUIS institution in Akmola region, shared.
At the production site No. 1 of the RSE "Enbek-Kokshetau" of this institution, there are production workshops for the production of various products – a sewing workshop, a mini-bakery and a shoe sewing workshop. For many years, the Granitka sewing conveyor has been providing seasonal clothing not only to the special contingent, orders are carried out here for the institutions of the UIS of other regions.
"Now we are working on an order for sewing special clothes for police officers - modern insulated camouflage jackets, the set includes a jacket, overalls and a jacket. In total, 100 sets have already been sewn for the RSE "Enbek-Astana", - says the head of "Enbek-Kokshetau" Zhanaidar Omashev. Special uniforms are sewn by more than 20 convicts, and the quality of tailoring of this special order is controlled by the engineer-technologist of the site Elena Govorukhina.
"At the institution, I had the opportunity to master a new specialty of a seamstress-motorist, of course, in the first month I did not do everything right, but the desire to work and be useful to my family and loved ones helped me achieve the desired result. Now I work without comments and complaints from the management of the workshop, monthly, I receive a salary, part of which is withheld for the repayment of claims, and I send the rest to my family, and even money remains for the purchase of necessary goods inside the institution through an electronic store," says convict George.
