The Prosecutor General took part in the meeting of the General Prosecutors of the SCO member states in China

Today, the Prosecutor General of Kazakhstan Berik Asylov participated in the 21st meeting of the Prosecutors General of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization member states in Xi'an, China.

Before the opening of the meeting, the Heads of Prosecutor's Offices were welcomed by Chen Wenqing, a member of the Politburo of the Chinese Communist Party, Secretary of the Central Political and Legal Affairs Commission of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China.

The Prosecutor General of Kazakhstan in his speech noted the increasing cooperation of the Prosecutor's offices of Kazakhstan and China, synchronously reflecting the relations between the leaders of the two states.

At the SCO meeting, the Heads of Prosecutor's Offices (India, Iran, Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, China, the Russian Federation, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Belarus, Mongolia) discussed issues of state modernization, regional security, the fight against organized crime and advanced training for prosecutors.

The Heads of Prosecutor's Offices of the SCO member states agreed to expand the influence of this Organization in order to ensure international security and legal guarantees in the development of the participating countries, to increase cooperation in countering crimes in the financial and economic sphere, drug and cybercrime related to terrorism and extremism, to develop cooperation between prosecutorial educational organizations.

Following the meeting, the Heads of the Prosecutor's Offices signed a protocol defining priority tasks and mechanisms for further cooperation.

On the sidelines of the SCO, the Prosecutor General of Kazakhstan also held a bilateral meeting with the Prosecutor General of the Supreme People's Prosecutor's Office of the People's Republic of China Ying Yong, where he discussed topical issues of mutual legal assistance in criminal cases, the transfer of convicts, as well as the return of illegally withdrawn assets.
