About the meeting with the Minister of Justice of the United Arab Emirates Al Nuaimi

On July 12, 2023, Prosecutor General Berik Asylov met with the Minister of Justice of the United Arab Emirates, Abdullah Sultan bin Awad Al Nuaimi.

A delegation of the Ministry of Justice of the United Arab Emirates, Minister of Justice of Kazakhstan Azamat Yeskarayev, employees of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Prosecutor General's Office attended the meeting.

The parties discussed a number of issues of bilateral cooperation in the criminal law sphere, in particular, the extradition of wanted persons, the provision of legal assistance in criminal cases, the fight against terrorism and the return of assets illegally withdrawn from the country.

The Prosecutor General informed the guests about the main legislative reforms in Kazakhstan, the priorities of the supervisory authority and the development of international legal cooperation.

He also stressed the importance of today's meeting, which will give an additional impetus to building up cooperation between the departments.

In turn, Abdullah Sultan bin Awad Al Nuaimi expressed interest in strengthening bilateral relations in the legal sphere.

The parties reached an agreement on partnership in the fight against modern global challenges.
