Legal statistics, how to promote preventive response in the field of domestic violence

All over the world, the value of the institution of the family is considered as a guarantee of the health of the nation and the prosperity of society.

Offenses in family and domestic relations are often committed by the people closest to each of the victims: spouse, father, mother, sister, brother, other close relative. Therefore, the very phenomenon of domestic violence leads to a violation of family relations and the foundations of the family, undermines the value of the institution of the family.

According to statistics for 9 months of 2022, 7.2% fewer criminal offenses committed in the family and household sphere were registered in the republic, this is 675 against 727 for the same period last year.

As the analysis shows, 76.6% of offenses in this category are committed at home, 56% are intoxicated. More than 12 thousand persons have been brought to administrative responsibility for committing offenses in the family and household sphere.

In order to carry out qualitative forecasts and analyses, increase prevention and development, effective measures to prevent offenses, state information on the number of registered criminal and administrative offenses, are allocated to a separate category of indicators in statistical reports of forms No. 1-M "On registered criminal offenses" and No.1-AD "On the results of consideration by authorized bodies of cases on administrative offenses".

Informing the population and the public about the results of the detection and suppression of violence in the family and household sphere is provided by monthly (quarterly) posting of statistical reports on the information portal of the Committee on Legal Statistics and Special Accounts qamqor.gov.kz .

In the "Legal Statistics" section, users can get the quantitative information they are interested in for a given period, region, department from statistical reports generated by the Committee.
