Pavlodar and Tyumen Oblasts Will Sign an Agreement on Cooperation

During the official meeting with the Akim of Pavlodar Oblast Bulat Bakauov, the Governor of Tyumen Oblast Vladimir Yakushev noted that Russia and Kazakhstan are united not only by common borders but also by historical and cultural ties. According to him, the opportunities for expanding mutual trade between the two countries, including between Pavlodar and Tyumen, are quite high today.

“One of the important factors in the development of Tyumen Oblast is the investments,” the Governor said, presenting the opportunities of the Region. – “According to the results of the last year, the volume of investments increased by 19% and amounted to 295 billion rubles. Now there are 500 investment projects with a total capitalization of 1.6 trillion rubles in the Oblast’s Registry.” It was noted at the meeting that the further industrial development of Tyumen Oblast is associated with industrial parks. This is a kind of special economic zones in which investors are provided with the connection to all communications, preferential terms and instruments of financial support. Vladimir Yakushev offered Pavlodar people exactly such sites for the cooperation in the sphere of light and food industry, logistics and trade.

Bulat Bakauov, in turn, told about the opportunities of Pavlodar Oblast and dwelled on the preferences granted to investors in Special Economic Zone “Pavlodar”.

“Our Oblast actively cooperates with Russian business,” – he highlighted. – “There are about 400 joint ventures, they are mostly companies operating in the sphere of trade and rendering services. One of the last vivid examples is the production of alloyed aluminium, which in Pavlodar, where more than 250 thousand primary aluminium is produced, has been set up by Novosibirsk investors. Meanwhile, other investors from Krasnoyarsk have established the production of aluminium car disks.”

Concluding the presentation, Bulat Bakauov proposed Vladimir Yakushev to conclude an agreement on cooperation between the two regions. The parties decided that they would sign the document at the XV Forum of Regional Cooperation of Kazakhstan and Russia, which takes place in Petropavlovsk.
