Chinese Investors Are Ready to Open a Logistics Hub in Pavlodar Oblast

“Here you could open a logistics centre,” – Pavlodar Oblast Akim appealed to the Vice-president of YEMA Group Cheng Gan. – “Ekibastuz is only 120 kilometres away from Pavlodar and 280 kilometres away from Astana. I think this is a very convenient place to create a hub from which you can send products manufactured in Kazakhstan to China.” The potential investors also have visited the Ekibastuz greenhouse of the QazTomat enterprise. For four months of work on the complex, about 1.2 thousand tons of tomatoes were grown. The main buyer of the products is Lenta, the Russian chain of stores. Every day about 10 tons of Ekibastuz tomatoes are sent to Ekaterinburg, Novosibirsk and Biysk.

“Now we are building a new complex on 16 hectares, which we plan to launch in the first half of 2019,”- said the Head of the greenhouse Erlan Matymov. – “This will increase the output of products to 35 tons daily. Perhaps, except tomatoes, we will begin to export cucumbers and eggplant.” In Pavlodar, the top managers of YEMA Group were presented with the potential of the special economic zone. In the SEZ they visited the production of alloyed aluminium at Guissenhaus, LLP and also visited AgroChemProgress, LLP, where chemicals are produced, and CCU-PV, LLP, which produces calcined coke.

“There is an aluminium plant in Xinjiang, which produces about 3 million tons of products a year, so we are interested in the calcined coke produced in Pavlodar, which is needed for the production of aluminium,” – said the Vice-president of the Chinese corporation Chen Gang. – “In the agro-industrial complex, we are ready to cooperate in buying and supplying vegetable oil to China.” Guests from China said that for the first time in 15 years they had arrived in the Pavlodar Oblast. Today, the investors are studying the local market to understand what they could produce here.
