Abylkair Skakov announced the rebooting the environmental council

Akim of Pavlodar region held a videoconference with representatives of the ecological community of the region. The experts raised some topical issues and made proposals for their solution.

Such dialogues, as Abylkair Skakov noted, should help to take effective measures to improve the ecological situation in the region.

“The environmental issues are acute in Pavlodar region. Their solution is possible only using the open conversation with the public. Your knowledge, involvement and recommendations are very important for taking timely and effective measures”, the head of the region said to the representatives of the public and scientific organizations.

The chairman of PA "Ecom" Svetlana Mogilyuk raised some questions. According to the expert, public associations and government agencies closely cooperate in Pavlodar region.

However, environmental activists have criticisms of the developers of the projects submitted for the discussion - according to Svetlana Mogilyuk, their quality leaves much to be desired. The head of PA "Ecom" also touched on the issues about the need to improve the environmental culture and impact of the state of the environment on people’s health.

“There are also the questions regarding the work of the environmental council. Unfortunately, it has not worked for the last six months. I think we could hold meetings using video conferencing and discuss topical issues of the region”, Svetlana Mogilyuk added.

The head of the region assured that today’s meeting, which was held late due to coronavirus, would be the beginning of a new stage of interaction between the regional akimat and ecological community.

“There will be a qualitative rebooting of our interaction, including the work of the ecological council on the issues of ecology and environmental protection. Our scientific community should also be actively involved in the work. Any measures taken for improvement of the environmental situation should be based on the research and analytical data”, Abylkair Skakov.

The biologist-expert of PF “Bereginya Bio” Tatyana Ponomareva, director of the branch of the association of the regional environmental initiatives “EcoJer” Raikhangul Satabayeva, pro-rector of PSU named after S.Toraigyrov Nurlan Yerzhanov, pro-rector of PSPU Alexander Svidersky, director of the center for the competence of environmental technologies Akhan Omirbek and chairman of the permanent commission on ecology and environmental protection of the maslikhat of the region Marina Strelkovskaya made proposals to akim of the region. Experts talked about the outdated green fund, historical pollution, traffic emissions, waste sorting and others.

At the end of the meeting, akim of the region stressed that such discussions would be regular and guaranteed support for all constructive ideas and proposals in the field of environmental protection and ecological culture.
