“Our common duty is to do everything possible to preserve the name of every innocent victim, appreciate peace and harmony in our home,” the Head of the region stressed. – “In the first half of the XX century in Pavlodar Oblast were deported more than 40 thousand immigrants. Among them were people of different nationalities and religions. Thanks to the hospitality of the Kazakh people, all the deportees found a new homeland. Their descendants are our fellow citizens today, all together we are building a strong and independent Kazakhstan.”

Repression and deportation directly affected 4 million Kazakhstanis. During the most brutal repressions of the 1930s, more than 100,000 of our compatriots died.
