A Monument to the Great Countrywoman

The bust of the famous composer and folk songs performer was presented in Usolskiy microdostrict. The figure of Mayra Shamsutdinova keeping an accordion in her hands was cast of pure bronze. The height of the entire monument is 3.5 meters, the bust weighs about 270 kilograms. The author of the composition is the famous sculptor Azat Bayarlin, and the customer of the whole project was the honorary citizen of Pavlodar Kuat Yesimkhanov.

“Mayra, who glorified Pavlodar land, has begun to been fallen into oblivion undeservedly,” – said the philanthropist. – “At a time when it was not accepted that women performed on the stage, she was the first who confided in her audience. At the same time, somewhere in the West, they are more likely to know about Mayra than we do. It doesn’t have to be that way.”

The Akim of Pavlodar Oblast Bulat Bakauov, honorary citizens of Pavlodar and guests from Almaty and Astana took part in the opening ceremony of the monument.
