The Former Akim of Pavlodar Came to the Post of the Akim of the Town of Miners.

The candidacy of Nurzhan Ashimbetov was agreed with the Administration of the President of the country and approved by the deputies of the City Maslikhat. Presenting the new Akim to the activist group, the Oblast Akim noted that the appointee has the necessary experience for the development of such an industrial city as Ekibastuz. The first task for Nurzhan Ashimbetov will be to attract investments. In addition, Bulat Bakauov instructed him to actively develop public-private partnership in Ekibastuz. Another challenge in his work will be the reconstruction of the main long-term area – the training center for training personnel for the fuel and energy complex.

We are to recall that before the appointment to a new post, Nurzhan Ashimbetov held the post of the Akim of Pavlodar from April 2016.

Nurzhan Ashimbetov was born in 1969 in the village of Chernoye, Pavlodar Oblast. He graduated from  Alma-Ata Zoo Veterinary Institute and Almaty Institute of Economics and Statistics, specializing in zootechnics and accounting economist. He began his career as a specialist in Pavlodar Territorial Committee for State Property, then worked as a consultant to the Karana Corporation of the US Agency for International Development. From 1997 to 1999 he was the chairman of the production cooperative, the Director of the agricultural company in Lebyazhye District. From 1999 to 2008 he was the Deputy Akim of Aktogay District, the Akim of Lebyazhye District, the Head of the Department of Agriculture of Pavlodar Oblast. From 2008 to 2009 he was a State Inspector of the Administration of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan. From 2009 to 2012 he worked as the Akim of the city of Petropavlovsk. From 2012 to 2016 he was the Deputy Akim of Pavlodar Oblast on agriculture.
