In Memory of the Ancestor

In honor of this event, not far from the village of Akshiman, a yurt town was established and a kokpar competition was organized. The Akim of Pavlodar Oblast, opening the mausoleum, said that one more sacred place appeared on the map of the region.

“The people who do not remember their history have no future,” – Bulat Bakauov said. – «A program on modernization of consciousness is being implemented across the country, which was announced by Nursultan Nazarbayev. And today we are opening one more unknown page of our history. I express my great gratitude to all those who put their efforts in  building of this mausoleum.»

Akbalyk khazret is a well-known preacher. He was born probably in 1833. The real name of the khazret is Abdіlda. But since the khazret had a light skin color, the people called him Akbalyk. From the age of 20 he was forced to leave his native village, hire out for Sartian merchants and pursue the transfer of livestock to Tashkent. For many years he devoted his life to teaching in madrassas of Tashkent and Bukhara. At the age of 44 he became a khazret, then returned to his native land in Bestau, where he opened a mosque-madrassa and taught Kazakh children literacy, the basics of the Islamic religion.
