The Akim of Pavlodar Oblast Bulat Bakauov visited the substation during a working trip to Ekibastuz. As the authors of the project said, the substation is connected directly to two sources – Ekibastuz GRES-1 and Aksu GRES. The cost of construction of the facility was about KZT 2.5 billion.

«The power of the existing substation was not enough to provide all the enterprises of Ekibastuz railway cluster with electricity, therefore, a decision to build a new substation was made,» – said the project manager Ismail Mamayev. – «Its power is 2 transformers of 40 megawatts each. This is enough to provide all the claimed consumers. Now the substation is in the test mode, in the coming days we will gradually begin to connect the plants.»

Today, the energy sector is working to connect a new enterprise for the production of railway wheel sets to electricity, in September, the plant must begin the commissioning work.
