Not without consequences. Hurricane in Pavlodar region demolished roofs and some of the officials

In the regional akimat, the head of the region, Asain Baykhanova, held a meeting today dedicated to the elimination of the consequences of the bad weather that raged on the night from Saturday to Sunday.

On November 18-19, a gale-force wind with gusts that reached 37 m/s in places was recorded on the territory of Pavlodar region. As a result, in three cities of the region, Bayanaul, Pavlodar, Shcherbaktinsky, May, Uspensky districts, as well as in the Akkula district, roofs were torn off at 83 social facilities. Among them are 61 schools, 10 hospitals, 9 cultural centers and 3 sports complexes. In addition, the roofs and cladding of 63 multi-apartment and 84 private residential buildings were damaged by strong winds.

Akimats of the affected cities and districts held meetings of emergency commissions, having made decisions on declaring a local emergency of a natural nature. Currently, an assessment of the damage caused has been carried out, contractors have been involved to restore the facilities.

There were 246 emergency shutdowns on the power supply networks, more than 100 transmission line poles were damaged. Until now, 18 villages in 3 districts of the region remain without electricity. This fact angered the head of the region. Asain Baykhanov assessed the work of responsible structures to restore power supply as unsatisfactory. He instructed Oleg Shchemel, the General Director of Pavlodarenergo JSC, to personally sort out the situation himself and eliminate the shortcomings of his subordinate organizations as quickly as possible.

- For the third day, residents of 18 villages remain without electricity. This means that for the third day they have no lighting, communication does not work, and some do not even have water. Many villagers use long-burning furnaces and pumps for wells. Gorenje They do not function without electricity. I instruct you to immediately rebuild the restoration work, including involving third-party organizations in it. If you can't cope, you need to ask for help from us, - the akim of the region demanded from the management of Pavlodarenergo JSC.

The head of the region presented serious claims to the akims of cities, districts and a number of responsible regional departments. The head of one of them - the Department of Energy and Housing and Communal Services - Yerzhan Salkhanov was dismissed right during the meeting for poor organization of work in the sphere entrusted to him. A number of other high-ranking officials barely held their positions. The decision on their future fate will depend on the results of the execution of the instructions given today.
