Akim of the region Asain Baykhanov took part in the opening of the International Chess Tournament "Pavlodar Open"

Chess is a unique and wise game, art and science at the same time. More than 30 thousand people are engaged in chess in the Pavlodar Irtysh region, and the game is taught in all schools of the region.

Pavlodar Open - 2023 brought together 230 participants from Kazakhstan, Russia, Belarus, Ukraine, the Netherlands, Australia, India, Israel, Azeybarjan, Tajikistan and Bangladesh, including 64 international masters and grandmasters.

The head of the region noted that participation in the tournament of such chess players as Alisher Suleimenov, who won a sensational victory at the Qatar Masters Open international tournament; two–time Olympic Champion and European champion – Alexander Moiseenko, three-time Champion of the Netherlands and Europe - Sergey Tivyakov and bronze medalist of India - Seturaman, is a great honor.

Asain Baykhanov congratulated all participants on the start of the tournament and wished them rich and meaningful games, success and victories.
