Industrial Tourism Is Planned to Develop in Pavlodar Oblast

Enterprises of Pavlodar Oblast can become objects of increased interest in the framework of a new type of tourism, as noted by Dastan Ryspekov, the Head of the Department of Entrepreneurship, Trade and Tourism at the Executive Office meeting, industrial tourism is a new global trend.

“Innovation involves excursions to the leading and existing production facilities in the region, which will serve as an excellent advertisement for many enterprises of their products,” – the speaker stressed. – “In Western European countries, industrial tourism began a quarter of a century ago. 250 thousand tourists visit the BMW plant in Germany annually. In Kazakhstan, two capital construction projects were included in the Guinness Book of Records: Khan Shatyr as the largest building in the form of a tent, the second is Ekibastuz GRES-2 with the highest chimney in the world. “These objects, as well as a number of others, such as Pavlodar Aluminum Smelter, the mining centre in Ekibastuz, Bogatyr coal mine could become objects of increased interest in the framework of the new type of tourism,” – the Head of the Department said.

Dastan Ryspekov also noted that Pavlodar Travel mobile app for smartphones is currently developed and launched in the Android platform, which contains a base and a description of the sights of Pavlodar Oblast, as well as information about tourist organizations, hotels, and a photo bank. In the process, the mobile application will be supplemented with the necessary information and will be translated into Kazakh and English as well. Currently, the work is underway to launch the application on the IOS platform.
