Pavlodar delegation also takes part in the forum along with representatives from other regions of Kazakhstan and Russia. The stand, which presents the tourist potential of the region, attracted the attention of many forum participants from the Russian Federation. According to the Oblast Department of Business, Trade and Tourism, today about 10 thousand Russians come to Pavlodar Oblast annually, which is about 7% of the total number of tourists in the region.

“Considering the constant work on the expansion and improvement of the tourist infrastructure, in the next two years we plan to bring the number of Russian tourists to 20 thousand people,” – said the Head of the Department Dastan Ryspekov. – “This should be facilitated by the launch of our ski base on Myrzashoky Mountain in Bayanaul District, and the development of the zone on the Maraldy salty lake.”

Russia is interested in cooperation with Kazakhstan in the tourism industry. According to experts, it is beneficial for them to increase mutual tourist trips.

“The number of Kazakhstanis coming to Tatarstan is about 25 thousand a year, and I think the number of Tatarstanians going to Kazakhstan is about the same,” – the Chairman of the State Committee of the Republic of Tatarstan on Tourism Sergey Ivanov said. – “In Tatarstan, they know about the mountains of Almaty, the Alakol lake in East Kazakhstan Oblast, the natural places of Akmola and North Kazakhstan Oblast. If we talk about Pavlodar Oblast, we heard about Bayanaul Park, its lakes and nature.”

The XV Kazakhstan-Russian Forum of Cross-Border Cooperation is timed for two days. Traditionally, the Heads of two states – Nursultan Nazarbayev and Vladimir Putin should take participation in it.
