The Head of State got acquainted with the preparations for the heating season in Ekibastuz

The working trip of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to the Pavlodar region began with a visit to the Ekibastuz thermal power plant.

The Head of State inspected the repair work carried out at the city's thermal power plant.

As Akim of the region Asain Baykhanov reported, as a result of the technical audit conducted jointly with the shareholders of Ekibastuz thermal power plant, an action plan was developed and approved to solve problems with the city's heat supply. The CAEC company has developed design and estimate documentation for the most worn-out sections of heating networks and all technical solutions for repair work at the CHP.

In accordance with the plan, the repair of all 10 boilers (5 steam and 5 hot water) is provided at the expense of the own funds of CAEC JSC (8.2 billion tenge) and at the expense of the reserves of the Government and the regional budget (8.5 billion tenge).

Having familiarized with the state of the thermal power facility, the President instructed the Government and the Akim of the region to keep the quality and timing of work on restoring the efficiency of the Ekibastuz CHP under special control.

– The situation is serious. The wear is very large. It is necessary to deal with this issue systematically and keep it under constant review. What happened last winter, of course, in no case can be repeated either in this city or in other cities. This is the responsibility of the Government and all akims. We learned a hard lesson from everything that happened. I must say a big thank you to the citizens of our country as a whole and the residents of the respective cities for their patience and understanding. But it is by no means possible to test this patience and understanding endlessly. Therefore, we will take measures," Kassym-Jomart Tokayev said.

Separately, the Head of State checked the progress of preparations for the upcoming heating season of the intra-block and main networks, as well as the housing stock of the city.

To date, according to the results of hydraulic tests of main and intra-block networks, 304 damages have been eliminated, 62 km of pipeline and 76 out of 95 units of shut-off valves have been replaced. In addition, 5.4 km of heating mains are being reconstructed at the expense of the Government reserve.

In general, according to the akimat, to eliminate the risk of emergencies in Ekibastuz, the implementation of two projects is required. The first project is the construction of a main pipeline that will allow uninterrupted supply of process water to the Ekibastuz thermal power plant. The second is the construction of a new heating main, which will ensure the balancing of the heat supply system of four microdistricts of the city and significantly improve the parameters of heat supply to the homes of more than 9 thousand citizens.

According to First Deputy Prime Minister Roman Sklyar, the Government is working on the issue of financing these projects from next year.
