The issues of readiness of forest protection institutions to fight fires were discussed in the Pavlodar region
The meeting began with a minute of silence in memory of the foresters who died in the neighboring region. Akim of the region Asain Baykhanov stressed that it is necessary to take all measures so that this does not happen again.
Earlier, on his instructions, all forest protection institutions in the Shcherbaktinsky, Zhelezinsky, Pavlodar districts and the Terenkol district, as well as the Bayanaul National Park and the Yertys Ormany Reserve were inspected.
Their total area is 127.5 thousand hectares, of which 89.8 thousand hectares are covered with forest. The forestry enterprises employ 225 people, including 144 inspectors. The equipment of fire–fighting equipment is 62%, fire-fighting facilities - 31%.
This year, the regional budget provided 355.2 million tenge for the purchase of three fire trucks, 11 planting machines and six plows. Today, one fire truck and all the equipment have been delivered, and two more tankers are expected within a month.
– As the analysis of the causes of wildfires shows, more than 50% of fires are the result of human activity. Therefore, it is necessary to conduct extensive explanatory work with the population on compliance with fire safety rules and measures of responsibility for their violation," the head of the region noted. – In addition, it is necessary to revise the algorithm of actions of all responsible authorities in the event of fires.
The akim placed special emphasis on the urgent implementation of the instructions of the Head of State on the introduction of an early fire detection system in the forest and the provision of water sources for rapid extinguishing. A number of steps in this direction have already been taken. In particular, according to the experience of the Akmola region, the issues of installing autonomous video surveillance masts that allow timely detection of fires and eliminate them at an early stage are being resolved.
In pursuance of the instructions of the head of state, during the period of high and extremely high class of fire danger, the protection of the state forest fund will be provided around the clock in shifts, in all rural districts of the region, mineralized strips will be updated, fire posts will be audited.
The issue of assistance in extinguishing fires and other unforeseen situations in places where power lines, pipelines and roads of republican significance are located has been worked out with large enterprises of the region.
