The Environment Ranks First

The Mazhilis participants arrived in Pavlodar Oblast to discuss changes that should be included in the Kazakhstan Republic Environmental Code. Pavlodar Oblast is the largest industrial region of the country, so the environment issue is critical for this region. Besides, 2018 was announced as the Year of Ecology.

“For us, the green issue is the first place and we lay special emphasis on the dealing with of environmental problems,” – highlighted the Head of the Region Bulat Bakuov during the meeting, which took place at the premises of Kazakhstan Electrolysis Plant. – “It is necessary to review the approaches to environmental audits, tighten administrative sanctions for violations of environmental legislation, and transfer the authority to conduct unscheduled inspections to the Ecology Department”.

After the roundtable discussion, the deputies acquainted themselves with the process of “winged metal” production. In addition, The Mazhilis participants visited Pavlodar petrochemical plant. Here the introductory tour was organized for them.
