Today, the akim of the region inspected the results of phenological monitoring of the development of mosquito larvae and midges in the coastal area of Aksu, where 18 villages are located along the bank of the Irtysh River. This year, the area of floodplain treatment against blood-sucking insects has been tripled here.
Since April 20, the scientific group has been conducting daily studies of the stage of development of mosquito larvae and midges in the reservoirs of the region. Phenological studies and sampling on the floodplain of the city of Aksu revealed the presence of 150 to 500 midge larvae per 1 m2 of water surface. When the water temperature reaches over 16 degrees, the larvae develop from the first stage to the second (the optimal period for the midge larvae). In this connection, aviation and local processing of these territories have begun today, similar work has also started in the Terenkol district.
The treatment is carried out with the use of a biological drug "Bacticide", which is harmless to the environment and people. All the necessary volume of the drug, equipment and specialists are available.
Also, 4 aircraft arrived in the region to conduct aircraft processing. Two of them will process the floodplain area near the village of Leninsky and the city of Aksu, two more boards will go to work in the Aktogay district and Terenkol. In order to prevent the flight of the already winged form of the midge, barrier processing of the coastline will be carried out.
Asain Baykhanov instructed to coordinate all disinsection measures based on monitoring the development of midge larvae.
- The main thing is to set the date of mass hatching. To do this, it is necessary to conduct observations every day, calculate the dose of the drug and drain it in time. It is very important to follow the developed algorithm, then the efficiency of treatments will be high, - said the akim of the region.
