The development of the IT sphere was discussed in Pavlodar region

The head of the region proposed to work on the quality and content of the process of training IT specialists during a panel discussion. The first forum "Digitalization Day" - "DigitalDay-2022", dedicated to technological achievements and innovations, was held in Pavlodar region.

Today, 5 major projects are being implemented in the region. Among them are the situational and analytical center, SmartCityPavlodar, "Single contact center - 109", eAkimat 365, Geoportal and digital twin. Over the past two years, the training of IT specialists has increased 4 times in the region - from 1200 to 4800. There are 4 IT schools, two of which are residents of Astana Hub. Since this year, IT HUB Jylyjai has been opened at the College of Information Technology and the Faculty of Computer Science at Toraighyrov University.

Having such a model, as Abylkair Skakov emphasized, now it is necessary to work on the quality and content of the process of training IT specialists. To do this, schools of a new type will be introduced, where IT training will be carried out as optional hours.

- You need to start from the school bench. The task is to conduct training in schools in such a way as to give skills that will allow laying the foundation, - the regional akim noted. — IT HUB can become a platform for professional tests and short-term courses. The goal is to make colleges and universities permanent environments where experts can share any opinions of an applied nature. This will effectively develop the new economy

And this means that the vector in choosing a profession in the direction of IT will change. It will be filled with high-quality infrastructure specialists, that is, its own IT community will be created. And most importantly, an IT pipeline is being formed in the form of continuous training of people and startups.

“Any project should start with building an IT architecture, and this specialist is one of the key ones,” said the head of the region. — Taking into account early mistakes, an IT architecture should be built, there should be a project, a database and services.

According to Abylkair Skakov, private companies need to focus on creating their own IT products. It is then that the efficiency and competitiveness of the company will only grow.

- The state, implementing large IT projects, is trying to create healthy competition in it, - the head of the region emphasized. - And in this regard, there is a great potential for digitalization, both public and private sectors. We have all the prerequisites for the development of IT and the creative industry.

During the panel session, international experts from this field made their proposals for the development of the IT sector. Among them is Russian entrepreneur Maxim Mikheenko, who has invested in a Californian company that creates 2D and 3D graphics for the world's largest studios. The technical manager of Booking.com, a native of the Pavlodar region, is Alibek Datbaev. Director of the School of Digital Technologies Kanat Kozhakhmet and representatives of the Astana Hub digital technopark. Doszhan Zhusupov is the founder and CEO of the medical tech startup Cerebra, which this year entered the top 10 medical tech startups in the world according to the world-renowned and respected company Medtronic, a native of Pavlodar - Doszhan Zhusupov.

The moderator of the panel session, the head of the digital transformation office of KTZ, technology entrepreneur Yerzhan Nauruzbaev noted that the region has a unique IT ecosystem that will unlock the potential of future Pavlodar IT specialists. According to him, now it is necessary to create an IT association, which will include representatives of the Pavlodar IT business and eminent IT specialists from Pavlodar. And with the help of which it is possible to implement the practice of mentoring for IT youth. Abylkair Skakov supported the proposal, noting that it was an interesting initiative.

Also within the framework of the forum there was an exhibition with IT products of Pavlodar companies. In particular, Kar-Tel (Beeline) showed a digital police officer, a remote AR expert, private LTE and smart utilities.
