More than 800 units of special equipment prepared for the winter period in Pavlodar region

Almost 27,000 inert materials and 589 units of special equipment were prepared in the region for the maintenance of the streets of settlements in the winter. About 800 more workers will be involved in manual cleaning of the curbs of the roads. The readiness for the maintenance of highways and streets in the winter period was reported today to the head of the region during the operational meeting.

According to the head of the regional department of passenger transport and highways Kanat Kashkirov, 229 units of road equipment, 3027 tons of anti-icing material and 237 tons of fuel and lubricants have been prepared for the maintenance of local roads this year. The average provision of cities and regions with fuel and inert materials is from 70%, however, in the Uspensky, Bayanaulsky and Zhelezinsky regions, about 50%. The work is not completed in full due to the lack of regulatory funding.

Abylkair Skakov instructed to review the methods of financing the winter maintenance of roads.

- The cost of maintaining streets and roads in individual cities and districts vary, - said the head of the region. - I instruct the akims of cities and regions to consider the possibility of concluding three-year contracts with an increase in funding for the maintenance of roads of regional significance. It is important to develop the best option, not forgetting the quality of the work performed.

As an example, the head of the region cited the experience of the Irtysh region, where a three-year contract with contractors allows for advance work on the preparation and maintenance of roads in the winter.

According to the head of the regional department of energy and housing and communal services, Yerzhan Salkhanov, 102 organizations were involved in the winter maintenance of the streets of the region's settlements, 589 units of special equipment and 26,300 tons of inert material were prepared, 792 workers were involved in manual cleaning of the curbs of the roads. The head of the region instructed the head of the department of energy and housing and communal services of the region to control the progress of work on the maintenance of streets in the winter.

One of the problematic sections of highways of republican significance is the Astana-Yereimentau-Shiderty highway. According to Maksat Askarov, director of the regional branch of NC KazAvtoZhol JSC, 26.2 km of snow-retaining shields have been installed to protect against snow drifts, including in difficult sections between 205 and 235 km.

Abylkair Skakov instructed the department of passenger transport and highways of the region, the national operator, as well as akims of cities and regions to strengthen control and conduct timely preparations for winter maintenance of roads of regional and republican significance.

- It is necessary to ensure safe and uninterrupted traffic on the republican, regional and district roads in the winter, - the head of the region emphasized. – POF of NC KazAvtoZhol JSC together with the Department of Emergency Situations, the Police Department, the National Center for the Quality of Road Assets, conduct commission rounds of the production bases of the POF of Kazakhavtodor LLP for readiness for winter maintenance.

In all settlements of the region, landfills for snow removal have been identified. In order to take the necessary prompt measures for the smooth operation of vehicles and ensure traffic safety, dispatch services have been established on the basis of contractors.
