A memorandum on providing the local market with potatoes and carrots in the off-season was signed in Pavlodar region

According to the document, 20 thousand tons of potatoes and 5 thousand tons of carrots will be laid for direct deliveries from vegetable stores. Issues of product quality and pricing were discussed today at the meeting of Abylkair Skakov with agricultural producers of the region.

The gross harvest of potatoes this year amounted to over seven hundred thousand tons, which is 20% higher than last year. At the same time, the domestic market of the region requires almost one hundred thousand tons of potatoes. Abylkair Skakov once again reminded about the quality of goods and price stabilization.

- For the development of potato growing in the region, all measures of state support are being taken, - the head of the region noted. - Last year, there were complaints from residents of the region about the quality of vegetables. Therefore, it is necessary to ensure stable prices and high quality goods. For this, there are sufficient volumes of vegetable stores in the region.

According to Nurbolat Makashev, head of the agriculture department, according to the memorandum, 36 agricultural producers of the region will put 20,000 tons of potatoes and 5,000 tons of carrots in their own vegetable stores. By the way, farmers are recipients of state support. Thus, from 2010 to 2022, 20 billion tenge was allocated from the budget for the construction of ICI in irrigated areas in the region. This year, the purchase of about five thousand tons of potato seeds was subsidized in the amount of 360 million tenge.

In turn, the regional akim instructed to set the selling price for vegetables within 100 tenge per kilogram.

- Akims of cities and districts, together with the Department of Agriculture, need to provide social shops, fairs and a farmer's market with the necessary supplies of potatoes and carrots, - Abylkair Skakov emphasized. – It is important not to forget about quality and to constantly monitor prices.

To provide the region's domestic market with socially significant food products, a farmers' market is planned to be launched by the end of this month. In general, over 2.5 years, the volume of production in the agro-industrial complex doubled.
