The interim results of the fight against the midges were summed up during the regional commission on emergency situations in the regional akimat. As the head of the Department of Energy and Housing and Public Utilities Yerzhan Imanzaipov said, today, 160 tons of bactericide, aimed at reducing the number of midge, have been dumped into the Irtysh river bed.

“Today we are starting local treatments with the help of this biological product in the area of Kenzhekol village,” he said. – In general, this year we have increased the number of local treatments in order to effectively deal with the nasal disease at problem points.

Among other things, experts continue daily anti-mosquito barrier treatments. This work is carried out both on the left and on the right bank of the Irtysh, as well as in the parks and squares of Pavlodar.
“Every day we conduct a commission survey of places of possible breeding of gnats, but I can say that today the entomological situation remains stable and, most importantly, controlled,” said Irina Sorokina, head of the regional public health department. – The number of midges and mosquitoes within the established norm, and with any increase in it, we immediately give recommendations on how to conduct treatments. Our department has a telephone hotline 55-38-30, which everyone can contact and get advice on the current entomological situation.

Also at the meeting discussed the issue of prevention of accidents in the water. According to official data, over the past ten years, 274 people have drowned in the waters of the Pavlodar region, and 47 of them are children.

“We must teach our children to swim,” suggested the head of the region Bulat Bakauov, one of the variants of the problem. – There are enough swimming pools in Pavlodar – this is “Ertis Olympic”, “Shymir”, and “Tolkyn”, and the pool of the “Dynamo” sports complex, which we will open tomorrow. Yes, even in open reservoirs in villages it is necessary to teach children the rules and culture of behavior on the water. For example, swimming in Belarus is a compulsory subject at school. Even if there is no pool in an educational institution, children are taken to a lake or river and are taught to float. Let’s do something similar in our region.
