The quality of social vegetables supplied to the stores of Pavlodar region will be checked at the stage of shipment
Such an instruction was given by akim of Pavlodar region Abylkair Skakov after visiting several social shops. The head of the region was convinced that, within the framework of the memorandum with local producers, high-quality potatoes and carrots are not always brought to retail outlets.
Akim decided to visit social shops after a recent meeting with agrarians. At this meeting, it was calculated that for four months, out of 36,000 tons of cheaper vegetables pledged to fill the domestic market, only 10% were sold in Pavlodar region. Already at the first point of sale - in the Proviant store on Kataev street - Abylkair Skakov found out what could be the reason for this. Not all potatoes and carrots on the social shelf were of high quality, and therefore many buyers prefer to buy vegetables at a higher price.
- If I refuse «Gagarin» potatoes at 200 tenge per kilogram, I can lose half of my customers, - the vegetable department saleswoman noted. - People say that it differs in quality and taste from the social one.
The head of the region instructed to conduct a survey among buyers of social stores to find out why people choose potatoes and carrots at 60-70% more expensive when the same vegetables are available at 115 tenge per kilogram.
The akim also had complaints about social panned bread, which is supplied within the framework of a memorandum with flour millers and bakers. The weight of a loaf of bread at a fixed price of 95 tenge should be 550 grams. However, the scales at the outlet showed 495 grams.
There were no other potatoes and carrots for sale in the Dania store on Lomov street, except for social ones. As sellers admitted, people willingly buy vegetables supplied directly from local producers and do not complain about their quality. Also, residents of the city take cheaper sugar, vegetable oil, rice and buckwheat, which entrepreneurs receive from the regional stabilization fund.
- Our main customers are pensioners, - the store manager said. - They also buy social goods. For them, this is a good help.
Products from the stabilization fund are also received at the Pakhomovsky supermarket. The store manager even asked for more supplies, because inexpensive food is sold out very quickly. Here, by the way, the weight of panned bread corresponded to the standard, and the price of a social roll turned out to be even lower than that set in the memorandum - 89 tenge.
As a result of the detour, Abylkair Skakov demanded to establish control over the shipment of social potatoes and carrots to stores. The head of the region also instructed to check the quality of vegetables at their acceptance at the retail outlets themselves. He recalled that local manufacturers have assumed obligations to supply quality products and must fulfill them. The akim of the region offered the farmers to see for themselves which potatoes and carrots are shipped from their warehouses and make sure that the population's claims to their quality are quite justified.
