The sugar factory in Pavlodar is planned to be commissioned in 2022

To date, there are four sugar factories in Kazakhstan. The processing capacity of the largest of them is 3 thousand tons of sugar beet per day. But even so, domestic enterprises do not produce as much sugar as it is necessary. According to experts, the annual consumption of sugar in Kazakhstan is about 500-600 thousand tons, when Kazakh plants produce only 20-30 % of this volume.

“The year before and last, white sugar was imported to Kazakhstan from the Russian Federation,” said Fedor Semenov, acting General Director of BMA Russland, a subsidiary of the world leader in the sugar industry BMA. – And here, of course, it is necessary to protect the interests of local producers and provide the state with strategic products. The projected plant will definitely be the industry leader in Kazakhstan, will become the most powerful sugar factory and will cover the country’s deficit in sugar in the amount of 100-110 thousand tons annually.

According to the feasibility study being developed, the new plant will appear near Aksu. The planned number of jobs – 300-350 in the season and 120-140 in the off-season period. The total area of the enterprise, taking into account the need to place the filtration fields and the storage pond, will be 140-150 hectares.

– The estimated design period will be 12 months, and the delivery time of equipment, construction and installation works and commissioning – 2 years, – said Fyodor Semenov. – According to the plan, the launch of the enterprise is scheduled for September 2022.

As noted by the developers, the regional authorities today need to think about raw materials for a new enterprise. The head of the region promised that by the time the plant is launched, this issue will be resolved.

 

– Today ten of our farms experimentally planted beets, they must provide the plant the necessary volume of raw materials, – said Bulat the Department of physical. – In the future, we intend to create agricultural consumer cooperatives that will work directly with the plant.
