Five students of Pavlodar State Pedagogical University were awarded scholarships of the regional akim
Students who excel in their studies, sports and social life of the university will receive a scholarship throughout the academic year. Akim of Pavlodar region Abylkair Skakov presented grants to them. Having visited the pedagogical university, the head of the region found out what technical capabilities the educational institution has, and reminded about the need for cooperation between scientists, authorities and business.
First of all, the akim was presented with the results of the work of the "Margulan Center", whose employees conduct archaeological and ethnographic expeditions. Since 2018, they have been developing a map of sacred objects of Pavlodar region, on which 70 points have already been applied.
“In all districts and rural districts where we worked, we not only photographed sacred objects, but carried out their scientific fixation and systematization,” noted Enlik Abeuova, head of the Rukhani Zhagyru research laboratory. - 70 objects is not the final figure. If we continue our in-depth study, I'm sure we can find other sacred places in our region.
Archaeologist and historian Tatiana Krupa demonstrated the finds of Kazakhstani seekers. She was especially pleased to present the finds found during excavations at a burial ground near the village of Shchiderty, including a headdress.
“It was found in a burial from the times of the Golden Horde, however, the studies carried out showed that this headdress correlates with the iconography of the Polovtsian balbals of the 11th-13th centuries,” the scientist explained. - We are able to carry out microscopy of such finds in order to say at what stage they were painted, with what raw materials, and so on.
Abylkair Skakov visited the scientific nano-laboratory, where gifted children develop their scientific and practical projects, and in the classroom of pedagogical skills, in which students acquire the skills of working in the electronic journal "Kandelik". The Scientific Center for Biocenology and Environmental Research reported that they should receive a license in the near future. This will allow the laboratory to be commercialized. Thanks to the unique equipment, they can carry out DNA examinations, detect pathogens in food and feed, and determine heavy metals in various environments. The head of the region immediately offered scientists a direction for cooperation.
“There are big problems with the quality of soil in Pavlodar,” the akim said. - And those who are engaged in the improvement of the regional center need expert advice on soil enrichment. Someone advises laying sod on the affected areas, someone suggests planting a lawn. But how effective it will be, no one can say. Therefore, we need the help of science in this matter.
They shared with Abylkair Skakov the results of the environmental monitoring project using neural networks. Thanks to this, scientists have compiled a map of the distribution of the total pollution factor of Pavlodar.
“This work is experimental, and we were able to carry it out only on the basis of indicators in 100 points of the regional center,” said Zhanat Shomanova, professor of the Department of Geography and Chemistry. - We would like to conduct a deeper study in order to obtain data not on the total concentration, but on pollution in a specific area of the city.
After the excursion, the head of the region met with the teaching staff of the university. Rector of the university Zhanbol Zhilbayev spoke about the plans for the transformation of the university. Among them - the opening of a center of academic excellence to strengthen future teachers. Akim expressed hope that PSPU will become an important partner for the authorities and the business community of the region.
“We need the support of scientists to determine the current state of the Irtysh floodplain, the flora and fauna of the region, in the work on the fight against vulture, in agriculture and much more,” he stressed. - The same plan of master's and doctoral work can be brought closer to our mutual needs.
At the end of the meeting, Abylkair Skakov presented five students of the Pedagogical University with personal scholarships. Thus, we intend to stimulate students who have already excelled in their studies, sports and social life of the university.
