For the first time in 30 years, more than one million tons of grain crops have been grown in the region. In addition, Pavlodar farmers have already received a record 600 thousand tons of potatoes and are leading in the republic in terms of buckwheat sowing, having cultivated 54% of all areas of this crop in Kazakhstan. As agrarians admit, such results were partly achieved due to the widespread development of irrigated agriculture and the introduction of agricultural technologies. The peasants shared the quality of the harvest and plans for the future with the akim of Pavlodar region Abylkair Skakov, who visited the Irtysh and Terenkol districts on a working trip.
Orazaly Atimov, the head of the Three K farm, told the head of the region that this year he tested the irrigation system for the first time to irrigate 630 hectares of land. As a result, the agricultural enterprises have significantly increased the gross harvest of products.
“Due to a small plot of pasture land, which usually in June is no longer of any interest either to the population or to livestock, we received products worth 350 million tenge,” the farmer said. - Therefore, we intend to develop irrigation, especially since the Irtysh flows two steps from our areas. In the coming years, we would like to introduce another two thousand hectares of irrigation.
They also began to look towards irrigation at another experimental agricultural enterprise of the Irtysh region - the peasant farm “Urazbayev”. Today, 5.2 kilometers of power grids and 3.2 kilometers of water supply have already been laid to its lands. By the end of the year, a pump will be installed here, and already next spring, farmers will introduce more than 280 hectares of irrigation. Having received a high-quality fodder base, the farm intends to start building a dairy farm for 620 heads.
- Today in the region there are 132 thousand hectares of irrigated land, - the deputy akim of Pavlodar region Meiram Uteshov moved to general indicators. - Within five years there is a prospect to increase the area of irrigated land to 225 thousand hectares. This year, the region should introduce about 5 thousand hectares of irrigation.
On the fields of the Smagul farm, Abylkair Skakov talked with other Irtysh farmers. They called the outgoing year successful. By the way, statistics also speak about this. For the first time in 30 years, the region is planning to get more than one million tons of grain crops. This is 35% more than last year. Meanwhile, Pavlodar potato growers exceeded the mark of 600 thousand tons and renewed their last year's record of 546 thousand tons of products. And, if in 2019 the gross output in the agro-industrial complex of the region was 255 billion tenge, then the forecast for this year is 350 billion tenge. The head of the region noted the importance of the labor of agrarians for the entire region and reminded that today farmers need to be more active in processing their own products.
“Agriculture should not only be based on raw materials,” he said. - Peasants can still count on support from the state, but over time, priority will be given to enterprises that switch to processing and high-tech production. All over the world, the level of the agro-industrial complex is assessed precisely by these indicators.
In the Terenkol district, akim of Pavlodar region visited the vegetable storehouse of the peasant farm "Kundyz". Its head, Igor Shcherbak, said that this year local peasants received very high-quality potatoes. The corn was also good.
“We also grow buckwheat of the “Nine” variety, which processors take with joy,” Igor Shcherbak shared the results of his work. - We have allocated 1.2 thousand hectares for this crop this year. We have already dumped the buckwheat and are waiting for it to dry up. Hopefully, the yield will be at least 8-10 centners per hectare.
By the way, this year the cultivated area of buckwheat in Pavlodar region exceeded 53 thousand hectares - this is more than half of all Kazakh buckwheat crops. With an average yield of 8.1 centners per hectare, it is planned to harvest more than 43 thousand tons of this crop in the region. This is about 55% of the total buckwheat volume that will be received in Kazakhstan this year.
On the areas of the peasant farm "Alexander" Abylkair Skakov met with other large agricultural producers of Terenkol. Many of them have almost completed the harvest, leaving only oilseeds, and are now preparing for winter. The head of the region drew attention to the fact that in order to support livestock breeders in the winter period, the mechanism of subsidizing feed was revised in Pavlodar region. Local milk producers will receive one billion tenge as subsidies this year. Another 500 million tenge will be distributed among small farms and peasant households.
“Almost a thousand farms working in our region can count on this help,” the akim emphasized. - Farms that breed cattle, on average, will receive 10 thousand tenge per head, and those who are engaged in sheep breeding - 3 thousand tenge per head. We are talking about a reduction in the cost of feed by an average of 20% to 45%.
According to Abylkair Skakov, for subsidizing feeds in Pavlodar region have already adopted the appropriate rules and, as soon as they are approved, the peasants will begin to receive this feasible assistance from the state. The head of the region instructed local leaders to inform farmers as quickly as possible about the opportunity that has arisen.
