The emergency department of the Pavlodar city hospital №1 and stroke center are ready to take patients

The emergency department is in the new building of the Pavlodar city hospital №1 and stroke center is in the regional heart center. The both projects have been implemented within the program "Employment Roadmap". The head of the region Abylkair Skakov saw the new departments of the medical institutions.

The new building of the city hospital is ready to take patients as well as provide pre-hospital first aid.

“The main task of this department is to receive, make a diagnosis and render emergency aid to the patients. 62000 people were given first aid by the workers of our hospital last year. 16500 people were hospitalized and the rest people were sent for outpatient treatment.  Patients are divided into "red", "yellow" and "green" categories, according to the triad-sorting, which is used around the world”, the head of the hospital Nurlan Zhumazhanov said.

“The surgery rooms have endoscopic video and mobile diagnostic equipment.  The resuscitation workstation, showing vital signs, allows medical workers to monitor the condition of 16 patients online. The intensive care unit is equipped with modern artificial ventilation, defibrillators, monitors and mobile monitoring devices. One more new thing is an immunohematologic analyzer with capacity of 60 tests per hour.

There is a separate entrance for the "green" group of patients who do not need emergency care. Our personnel is ready to work with the new equipment and has already taken courses of resuscitation, cardiopulmonary resuscitation, giving pre-hospital medical care in case of injury”, Nurlan Zhumazhanov added.

“The main thing is that a patient, checked into the hospital, should receive all necessary medical care here”, Abylkair Skakov noted.

The stroke center at the regional heart center was opened as a result of replanning of the laboratory of X-ray endovascular surgery and sterilization unit. There is a reception with wards for patients who need emergency care, intensive care wards for postoperative and critically ill patients, computerized tomography and X-ray operating room. All of them have modern equipment that allows patients to receive emergency care in one place.

“The need for this center was due to the annual increase in the number of stroke patients in the region. Last year they were 2500 people. Thanks to the new department, we will perform the initial diagnosis for 7 minutes”, the head of the heart center Adilzhan Albazarov stressed.

It is planned to open a clinical and diagnostic complex in the heart center. It will significantly reduce the number of patients with circulation diseases, who need surgery. Today the center performs about 600 open-heart surgeries a year, next year it is scheduled to increase them up to 1000.
