The musicologist and composer Naum Shafer celebrates the 90-anniversary

Representatives of the intelligentsia and akim of Pavlodar region Abylkair Skakov congratulated Naum Shafer on his anniversary.

The meeting took place in the House-museum of Shafer. There are more than 27000 gramophone records. The musicologist and composer have collected them throughout the life. The head of the region said that the collection was the national heritage.

“Today in our museum there are rare gramophone records, which you do not find in any country of the world. I am happy that you continue the great work. I wish you sound health and continuation of the large-scale creative project. I hope that you continue to create and we are ready to help you in it”, akim of the region said.

Speaking about Naum Shafer’s family, the well-known Pavlodar journalist Yuri Pominov called it a gift of the fate.

“Naum Grigoryevich teaches people for the republic. His House-museum has become a cultural center of education. He has proven that there is no province and today every person needs him as the best specialist in the world studying Isaak  Dunayevsky work and life, writer and musicologist”, Yuri Pominov noted.

Naum Shafer told that when he was a young man, he thought that the number 90 was something from the category of fantasy and shared a receipt for the happy life with the guests.

“I would like that at my time of life you have good followers, regardless what you are doing. It will be your happiness”, he added.

Naum Shafer was given books and equipment for digitizing of old gramophone records, which was necessary for the museum. The hero of the anniversary played two records for the guests.  They were the songs, written by Bekezhan from the opera “Kyz-Zhibek” staged by Yevgeny  Brusilovsky, sung by the famous Kazakh and Soviet singer and actor Kauken Kenzhetayev. The recording dates back to 1957.
