Center "Asyl Miras" for children with autism spectrum disorders opened in Pavlodar

The center is opened for children under 18. It is the center in which children with autism will be supported using the modern specialized programs. Their parents asked akim of the region Abylkair Skakov to open such center. The difficulty was in choosing a building - it had to comply with the requirements for the work with special children. Such building was finally found on Lunacharsky street, 28 in Pavlodar. Its characteristics corresponded to the necessary standards.

“It is a very happy day for all of us. Many parents who raise special children often go to other cities to have high-quality diagnostics. In addition, not every parent can pay KZ 100000-120000 for a monthly course. At “Asyl Miras” we will be able to receive all services we need without payment. Nothing matters but I will be able to learn how to play and talk with my son, who spends plenty of time with me”, one of the mothers Maria Terentyeva said.

The center "Asyl Miras" was opened in Pavlodar together with Bulat Utemuratov Foundation. One of its programs is the project “Autism. The world is one for everybody”, the goal of which is to develop and implement a progressive support system to improve the quality of life of children with autism spectrum disorders.

“Our region has been in need of such center for a long time and today it is the great event for all of us. I would like to express gratitude to the parents and representatives of the non-governmental organization for the wait. I share your joy and I hope that the opening of the center will be a new stage in the development of correction of autism in our region”, akim of Pavlodar region Abylkair Skakov said to the participants of the presentation.

Such centers have been opened in Nur-Sultan, Almaty, Kyzylorda, Ust-Kamenogorsk, Aktobe, Uralsk, Shymkent and Petropavlovsk.

“The doors of our centers are open to all parents and children every day. Here, our specialists, trained according to the most advanced methods, will diagnose a case absolutely free of charge and if a child has it, he will be included in the appropriate program for the development of the necessary skills. All of our centers give classes using the American technology, developed by the University of California and Marcus Autism Center in Atlanta. These technologies have proven to be effective. Each child, who goes to our centers, shows progress in the development”, the director of Bulat Utemuratov Foundation Marat Aitmagambetov noted.

In the new center there is a diagnostic room where children will be examined. For children from 3 to 7 years old there is "Jasper" room, in which the basic educational and verbal abilities of pupils will be assessed. Skills of cooperation, speech understanding, self-service and visual abilities of children will be developed in the room of train skills. In the intensive room, children and parents will take a two-week course of cooperation with each other. The center also has a room for the development of social skills of children at the age of 8-15 and a sensory room. The highly qualified specialists will provide comprehensive assistance to children of the center, namely a speech pathologist, psychologist, exercise physiologist and others. All workers of the center have been taught by the certified specialists. Moreover, personnel of Bulat Utemuratov Foundation will improve their qualification and, importantly, teach parents how to behave with their children.
