Two regions – one goal

Akim of Pavlodar region became the guest at the opening of the week of the Shanxi Province in the pavilion of China in the international exhibition “EXPO-2017”.

 First of all, the Pavlodar delegation was shown the pavilion of the People’s Republic of China. They could see the advanced energy developments, including energy saving technologies.

“The Chinese wisdom of Lao Tzu is that the journey of a thousand miles begins with one step. The first step in our cooperation was made last year, when the delegation from Shanxi visited us. Today we make the second step. The economies of our regions are very similar. We have much in common and great potential for the development. I am sure that we will go further to the common goal together”, Bulat Bakauov said.

Akim told the Chinese colleagues that Pavlodar would be of interest to investors, because of cheap electricity and Irtysh River, whose potential is used only 1/3. The vice governor of Shanxi Province Wang Yixing said that already today the cooperation of two parties has a stable basis.

“Today our province imports many resources from Pavlodar region, thanks to it, the volume of imports exceeded US 2 mln. I think that representatives of our companies will be able to discuss all issues and continue cooperation”, he added.

After that there was a concert with participation of the artists from PRC. The guests of the pavilion could listen to the Chinese songs, see dances and play folk instruments. Then Bulat Bakauov gave an interview to the Chinese journalists. Akim of the region offered the head of the Shanxi Province to open a permanent representational office in Pavlodar. The problems of cooperation will be resolved more quickly.
