On the Silk Road

The Memorandum provides for cooperation with the members of the Hong Kong Silk Road Association concerning the issues of business and commerce, public administration, education, health and sport as well as history, science and technology development.

After the conclusion of the agreement, the Pavlodar delegation took part in the B2B meeting with representatives of more than 100 large enterprises. Shaanxi businessmen said that they were interested in cooperation with Pavlodar region in the fields of chemistry, petrochemistry, deep processing of coal and industrial waste and others. “We know about the serious production facilities in Priirtyshye”,  the head of the department of commerce and trade of Shaanxi Province, Hao Junmin said.

“Pavlodar food products are also popular in China. I strongly hope that we will have fruitful cooperation in agriculture”, he added.

In the meantime, Bulat Bakauov said that cooperation within the Great Silk Road, which began on Changan (now Xian) was very important today.

“We have become participants of the New Silk Road today.  As we know, the Chinese Government supports the coal processing projects and domestic technologies are used in the main coal mining regions. Today in the period of tracking the world crisis in the economy it is very important to provide the economic support to each other. The statistics of mutual trade of Pavlodar region with China shows a stable growth of trade turnover, which is more than US 500 mln per year. Over the past three years, mutual trade has increased in 2 times”, Bulat Bakauov said.

The head of the region emphasized that after the international exhibition “EXPO”, where he met with Chinese investors, the economic relations between Pavlodar and Chinese regions would be strengthened.
