Roads to be ready for the winter

The end of the repair season and preparation of the roads of Pavlodar region for the winter was discussed in the regional akimat. The head of the region charged that all roads works would be completed until November 15.

It is a reminder that more than KZ 1 bln has been allocated for maintenance of 1139 km of the roads this year. Despite 100% financing, not all roads have been prepared for the winter. For example, dead-trees have been not yet cut in the road side ditch in Aktogay area.

“There was a law suit with SME “Gorkomkhoz”. The contract with this organization was terminated. Today, the second tender has been held. A new contractor will be chosen in Aktogay area by November 5. Now we consider the tender documentation of the applicants. The work will be done”, the head of the Department of Passenger Transport and Motor Roads Kanat Kashkirov commented the situation.

Specialists of the road department chose 46 snow-covered sections of the roads of the region. In these places it is planned to install shields for retention of snow.

Akims of some areas said that they had not enough money for maintenance of the roads.

“All roads must be in proper condition. If there is little money in the city and district budget for maintenance of the roads, the local akimat should make an application to the regional budget and we will allocate the necessary amount for it”, the head of the region said.

Bulat Bakauov reported that loaders, graders and two snowplows had been already purchased. The head of the region said that there would not be snow-wreath on the roads in the winter. Contractors will be responsible for it.
