Seminar "Using effective methods and techniques to improve the quality of knowledge in English lessons"

I agree with the work plan of the Department of Education on 17.11.2023 on the basis of the KSU "School-Center of Additional Education No. 48" of the Department of Education in the city of Ust-Kamenogorsk, a practice-oriented seminar for English language teachers "The use of effective methods and techniques to improve the quality of knowledge in English lessons" was held. The participants of the seminar were welcomed by the director of the school, Ch.T. Mazhinova, who noted that a modern school needs teaching methods that would help not only to teach qualitatively, but first of all, to develop the potential of the individual. Modern education is aimed at actively mastering the situation of social changes, and not at adapting students to them. In English lessons, a special place is occupied by forms of classes that ensure the active participation of each student in the lesson, stimulate speech communication, contribute to the formation of interest and desire to learn English.

      The methodologist of the language disciplines of the Department of Education E.P. Kruglova noted that the fleeting practice of teaching foreign languages shows that a significant part of the students are poorly motivated to learn a foreign language. The reasons are obvious: there is no language environment, it is difficult to evoke a foreign language motivation for speaking. To eliminate these causes, new forms and methods of training are required. The traditional approach cannot be the only form of meeting the needs for communication in a foreign language. Today, the goals and objectives facing modern education are changing. The quality of education at present is not academic performance, not the formation of knowledge, skills and abilities, as it was before, but the ability to act, the ability to apply knowledge, implement their own projects, the ability of social action, i.e. the competence of the teacher and student. That is, to what extent the student in his further practical life will be able to realize his skills and develop his creative potential.

        The seminar was held in the format of sections, the moderator was the deputy director for academic affairs Shabalova N.I. The speakers in the sections were teachers of the English language of the school Zheldibaeva G.M., Kartaeva K,A., Uralova A.M., Manapova Zh.M.,Zhakisheva A.S., Sharipova G.B., Aitzhanova K,D., Temirkhan Akgul. The participants of the seminar noted the high level of preparation and conduct of the training seminar, readiness in their professional practice to purposefully improve the effectiveness of English language knowledge with the help of modern methods and technologies of language teaching shown at the seminar. Ways and means of improving the effectiveness and quality of the lesson methods and techniques of intensive learning and analysis of the use of new technologies in English lessons are presented in the recommendations following the seminar.
