City ecological and ornithological festival "Ornis-2023"
On April 12, the “Training and Research Ecobiocenter” held the city ecological and ornithological festival “Ornis-2023”, dedicated to the International Day of Birds. The purpose of the event is to involve school students in Ust-Kamenogorsk in the study of the biological diversity of their native land, improve students' knowledge in the field of knowledge of the biological and ecological characteristics of birds and environmental protection measures.
The city festival "Ornis-2023", organized by the city department of education and the "Training and Research Ecobiocenter" for schoolchildren of the city, is the final ornithological event and combines the organization of the ornithological Olympiad and the ecological seminar for students and teachers of schools "Organization of spring environmental and phenological observations in the city of Almaty". Ust-Kamenogorsk and its environs. The lecturers were N.T. Kapchikova, methodologist for the natural science cycle of the city department of education and A.P. Tsyganov, candidate of biological sciences, director of the Educational and Research Ecobiocenter.
The Ornithological Olympiad was held in electronic format in two languages on the Google forms platform. The jury of the event included: Raisov M.N. - hunting specialist of KSU "Ust-Kamenogorsk forestry" of the Department of natural resources and environmental management of the East Kazakhstan region; Aitkhozhina S.K. - Senior Lecturer of the Department of Ecology and Geography, VKU. S. Amanzholova, Master of Natural Sciences; Tsyganov A.P. – Ph.D., director of the “Training and Research Ecobiocenter”.
At the end of the Ornis-2023 festival, the results were summed up.The total coverage of participants was 63 people. 18 schools took part in the Ornithological Olympiad: 1,3,4,7,8,14,16,17,18,19,22,23,24,36,38,42,46,47.
